Type of Material:

Fused silica is a noncrystalline (glass) form of silicon dioxide (quartz, sand).

Manufacturing technique:

• Roller pressing (Fire Assay Crucibles)
• Slip casting (labware)

Application:

• Near zero thermal expansion
• Can operate to a maximum temperature of 1400°C
• Exceptional thermal shock resistance
• Very good chemical inertness
• Low dielectric constant & loss
• Good corrosion resistance
